Cammell Laird Welcomes Cdre David Eagles.

Last week, Cammell Laird welcomed Commodore David Eagles, Head of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA), to its facility.

Cdre David Eagles joined the RFA in 1988 and has served for over 30 years on various seagoing and staff appointments. Prior to taking up his promotion and appointment as COMRFA, his last sea going Command was RFA FORT VICTORIA.

The visit included a tour of Cammell Laird’s facility, where the commodore had the opportunity to view the four RFA vessels currently undergoing works in the wet basin.

Since 2008, Cammell Laird has provided in service support to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary under the Cluster support Contract. The team has supported vessels from the RFA Fort-Class, Wave-Class and Tide-Class. In 2023, RFA Proteus and RFA Stirling Castle were also added to the cluster.

Cammell Laird is proud of the role it has played in supporting the RFA fleet. Today the APCL Group maintains 100% of the RFA flotilla.
